The man practically launched the British blues rock explosion of the \u201860s with his band John Mayall &amp; The Bluesbreakers, which became the proving ground for everyone from a young up-and-comer Strat-slingin\u2019 phenom going by the name of Eric Clapton as well as Rolling Stones guitarist Mick Taylor, Fleetwood Mac\u2019s Peter Green &amp; John McVie, Cream\u2019s Jack Bruce and numerous others.\u00a0<br><br>But Mayall had enough juice of his own to fly solo as well both on stage and in the studio, and his many solo albums prove just that. For starters, check out the superb 1980 album Mayall released,\u00a0<em>Road Show Blues<\/em>. The album combines the best of Mayall\u2019s qualities &#8211; original songs, soulful vocals, and of course fiery guitar playing.
