{"id":15786,"date":"2021-08-13T15:45:24","date_gmt":"2021-08-13T15:45:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/skylight.gr\/?p=15786"},"modified":"2021-08-13T15:45:33","modified_gmt":"2021-08-13T15:45:33","slug":"bill-bruford-announces-the-availability-of-his-whole-back-catalogue-on-digital-platforms-for-the-first-time","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/skylight.gr\/index.php\/2021\/08\/13\/bill-bruford-announces-the-availability-of-his-whole-back-catalogue-on-digital-platforms-for-the-first-time\/","title":{"rendered":"Bill Bruford Announces the Availability of His Whole Back Catalogue on Digital Platforms &#8211; For the First Time!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Legendary drummer Bill Bruford recorded numerous solo albums outside his commitments to\u00a0<strong>YES<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>King Crimson<\/strong>\u00a0that hold a treasured place in many fans\u2019 rock and jazz collections.<br><br>Bill\u2019s first band was the eponymously-named\u00a0<strong>Bruford<\/strong>\u00a0(1977-80) following which he recorded two studio albums with\u00a0<strong>Patrick Moraz<\/strong>. In 1986 he formed\u00a0<strong>Earthworks<\/strong>\u00a0as a deliberate return to his roots in jazz, encouraging the use of rock technology with jazz sensibility \u2013 the hallmark of Earthworks\u2019 stylish approach. There have been further collaborations with\u00a0<strong>Tony Levin<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>David Torn<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Ralph Towner<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Eddie Gomez<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Michiel Borstlap<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Colin Riley<\/strong>\u00a0and various percussion ensembles along the way.<br><br>However, until now, most of these albums haven\u2019t been available on Download and Streaming platforms.\u00a0 Bruford has personally curated a re-release series of all his albums in physical formats, including the giant\u00a0<strong>Earthworks Complete<\/strong>\u00a0box set, so he is pleased to announce the availability of his albums digitally.<br><br>Of this new availability Bill commented:\u00a0<em>\u201cIf you like to consume your music interests digitally, and have a moment to check out all things Bruford, or maybe take a listen to my solo and collaboration albums, or Earthworks\u2019 albums for the first time, then, in all sincerity, it\u2019s a pleasure to know my entire catalogue can now be downloaded and streamed.\u201d<\/em><br><br><strong>All of the albums have been released on Bill Bruford\u2019s own Summerfold and Winterfold Records (via Cherry Red) and can be found on digital platforms using the below links:<\/strong><br>Bill Bruford:\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/cherryred.co\/BillBruford\">http:\/\/cherryred.co\/BillBruford<\/a><br>Bruford:\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/cherryred.co\/Bruford\">http:\/\/cherryred.co\/Bruford<\/a><br>Bill Bruford\u2019s Earthworks:\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/cherryred.co\/BBrufordsEarthworks\">http:\/\/cherryred.co\/BBrufordsEarthworks<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>Bill has now retired from recording and performing live, but enthusiasm for his back catalogue remains substantial and growing.
