Sons Of Alpha Centauri<\/strong>\u00a0sign to\u00a0Exile On Mainstreamrecords<\/strong>\u00a0and announce their third album\u00a0Push<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0– a milestone release for the UK-based collective and a radical departure from their instrumental sound.\u00a0Push<\/em>\u00a0marks their first collaboration with musicians from two of the biggest and most respected bands in the Sacramento music community;\u00a0Jonah Matranga (Far, Gratitude)\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Mitch Wheeler (Will Haven)<\/strong>.\u00a0Exile On Mainstream\u00a0will proudly release\u00a0Push<\/em>\u00a0on\u00a027th August<\/strong>.\u00a0

Push\u00a0<\/em>is a powerhouse of searing post hardcore, alternative metal and progressive dreamy riff rock, with an ideology rooted in the 90s hardcore scene. The record has evolved a fresh take on alternative post hardcore and emotive metal. The hypnotic pulsing riffs and the soaring emotional power of Jonah’s wrought and raw vocals provide his first heavy performance since the critically acclaimed\u00a0Far\u00a0reunion album\u00a0At Night We Live.<\/em>

SOAC follow on from their previous album\u00a0Continuum<\/em>\u00a0exploring their heavier side and pursuing a truly avant grade blend of progressive ambient metal and post hardcore. Jonah uses his return to post hardcore, and his subtle, almost subliminal delivery to challenge some of the core topics with a reignited fire of passion and emotional persuasion.\u00a0

Founding member and bass player\u00a0Nick Hannon<\/strong>\u00a0said\u00a0“SOAC has a split personality – this is most certainly our darker and heavier side – we grew up on 90s alternative rock and to harness our vision with the purveyors of the Sacramento post hardcore sound will make this a true landmark release and we have taken it to the extreme collaborating with Mitch and Jonah!\u2019\u201d<\/em>

On embracing the spirit of collaboration Nick continues,\u00a0\u201cWe\u2019ve always been interested in working in a collaborative manner so despite the epidemic we\u2019ve continued building and expanding our spectrum of musical genres that we want to experiment with. This is an exciting phase for us, and integrating the guys from Sacramento and their heritage is phenomenal. We have worked to sculpt the instrumental rock dexterity of SOAC and provided a hardcore backbone by integrating Mitch and Jonah that has breathed a whole new spirit into the vessel. It still has an element of mysticism but comes with a more direct connection to the audience.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Sons of Alpha Centauri\u00a0are the UK\u2019s original instrumental stalwarts. Formed in 2001 they released their atmospheric and progressive debut to acclaim in 2007 and since then proceeded to develop their instrumental approach having been accepted and adopted by instrumental luminaries\u00a0Karma to Burn<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Yawning Man<\/strong>.\u00a0SOAC\u00a0have released multiple split records, undertaken several collaborations and toured extensively with\u00a0Karma to Burn\u00a0since 2009 and have also formed\u00a0Yawning Sons<\/strong>\u00a0with members of\u00a0Yawning Man. The collaboration heralded involvement from\u00a0Scott Reeder\u00a0(Kyuss)<\/strong>,\u00a0Wendy Rae Fowler\u00a0(Queens of the Stone Age)<\/strong>\u00a0releasing several albums to critical acclaim in 2009 and 2021 both widely referred to as cult classics.

    SOAC returned in 2017 with their sophomore\u00a0Continuum<\/em>\u00a0produced and engineered by\u00a0Aaron Harris\u00a0of\u00a0ISIS\/Palms<\/strong>\u00a0and the sister release\u00a0Buried Memories<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0followed thereafter which was a remix collaboration album with\u00a0Justin K. Broadrick\u00a0of\u00a0Godflesh \/ Jesu<\/strong>.\u00a0

    Push<\/em>\u00a0is an album\u00a0that blends the instantly recognisable sonic landscape of\u00a0SOAC\u00a0with the wrought emotional tone of\u00a0Far<\/strong>\u00a0and the epic backbone of\u00a0Will Haven<\/strong>. This milestone album was recorded by\u00a0Lance Jackman\u00a0<\/strong>of\u00a0EightFourSeven<\/strong>\u00a0in Sacramento and engineered and mixed by\u00a0Dan Lucas<\/strong>. This album has been mastered by the legendary\u00a0Nick Zampiello\u00a0(Cave In,\u00a0Converge,\u00a0ISIS)\u00a0<\/strong>and presented impeccably by\u00a0Exile on Mainstream Records<\/strong>.
