Greg Antista & The Lonely Streets today premiere\u00a0\u201cTijuana Jail,\u201d the lively first video\u00a0from the group\u2019s second album,\u00a0Under the Neon Heat<\/em>. The track will be on sale digitally tomorrow. The album followed July 16\u00a0on CD, download, and 180-gram hot pink vinyl via Primal Beat Records. All formats are available for pre-order at\u00a0Road Dog Merch<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Bandcamp<\/a>.\u00a0

The band has also announced a live show to celebrate the album release at Alex\u2019s Bar in Long Beach, California on July 23. Tickets are available at\u00a0AlexsBar.com<\/a>.\u00a0

Directed by Frank Ordonez, the \u201cTijuana Jail\u201d video complements the song\u2019s furious surf-guitar shimmy with a parade of go-go girls, mustached Mexican \u201cFederales,\u201d sniffer dogs, and tongue-in-cheek bar violence.\u00a0

Singer\/songwriter\u00a0Greg Antista<\/a>\u00a0explains the origin of the song: \u201cTijuana is the main border town on the Mexico side of the California-Mexico border. It\u2019s always had a wild reputation and heading down there for the weekend has long been a rite of passage for kids growing up in Southern California. Drinking age requirements were lightly enforced and the punk shows at Iguana\u2019s were reliably insane. I was always lucky enough to have my fun without getting thrown in the drunk tank. \u2018Tijuana Jail\u2019 is the true story of my friend Trevor who was not so lucky.\u201d\u00a0

The Lonely Streets\u2019 newest member is guitarist\u00a0Frank Agnew<\/a>, who debuted in the lineup at a Steve Soto livestream tribute concert in August 2020. Original members are Antista (vocals, guitar),\u00a0Warren Renfrow<\/a>\u00a0(bass, accordion, vocals), and\u00a0Jorge E. Disguster<\/a>\u00a0(drums, vocals). The players\u2019 previous group affiliations are extensive: Antista (Joyride, Foxy), Agnew (Adolescents, Legal Weapon, 45 Grave), Renfrow (Cadillac Tramps, Manic Hispanic, Final Conflict, tours with Adolescents and The Damned), Disguster (The Hangmen, Mink Daggers, Mr. Mirainga, live shows with Throw Rag).

The band is set to make good on the accolades for 2019\u2019s\u00a0Shake, Stomp and Stumble<\/em>, the debut album which featured nine party-starting songs anchored by indelible melodies, heartfelt vocals, and powerful musicianship.\u00a0New Noise Magazine<\/em>\u00a0described its tunes as \u201cperfectly-crafted, three-minute pop songs that owe as much to Johnny Cash as they do the Adolescents,\u201d while\u00a0The Big Takeover<\/em>\u00a0compared the group\u2019s approach to \u201ca crunchier, power-pop-leaning Social Distortion.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
