A nightmarish cabaret steeped in the surreal, this European based collective makes captivating and eccentric music about inside-out cats, hedgehog swallowers and devious doctors.

Having existed primarily as a live entity since 2017, the Travelling Freakshow toured Europe extensively with their extremely unique live show which incorporates immersive performance art, audience participation and a litany of bizarre and beguiling costumes and masks depicting the characters in the songs. The group’s visual chaos is underpinned by Monsieur Pompier’s manic music and storytelling approach to songwriting.

Recently, the band partnered with US indie label Cleopatra Records to launch their debut album Teatime Terrors July 16. Across the ten tracks of Teatime Terrors we are introduced to a different character on each song. The album opens with “Banana Boy,” a song about an unruly scamp who grows a banana in place of his fingers every time that he does something naughty. This is followed by “The Crabbit,” whose titular character, a half crab, half rabbit hybrid appears when a person succumbs to alcoholism. The album’s lead single, “The Ear Fairy,” is the tale of a sinister fiend who visits each and every one of us at night, cleaning out our ears and vanishing from sight. He then takes the ear wax home contained in a jar and gradually builds up a sculpture bizarre. This whirling waltz is accompanied by a mesmerizing video directed by Stefan Evans and filmed in a mysterious log cabin deep in the Irish countryside.

Watch “The Ear Fairy” video:https://youtu.be/JDViCG3tE8s
Stream/download the single:https://orcd.co/xqpbobp
Pre-order/pre-save the album:https://orcd.co/9d75gaq

Track List:

Banana Boy

The Crabbit

The Ear Fairy

Guts The Cat

The Hedgehog Swallower

Micky Mould

Doctor Moogie

Pillowman

Willy Wet Pockets

Sally Shortcake

Monsieur Pompier’s Travelling Freakshow is a musical act like no other.
