Johnny Thunders<\/strong> is a true punk rock legend. He shot to stardom as a founding member of the iconic NEW YORK DOLLS.<\/strong> After a stint with the Dolls<\/strong>, he then went on to form his own band Johnny Thunders & the Heartbreakers.<\/strong> Thunders sadly lost his life in 1991 at the age of 38, but his legacy lives on to this day. Thunders was one of the true Godfathers of the US punk scene.

On March 22nd, Golden Robot Records \/ Die Laughing Records released the live single ‘C<\/strong>hinese Rocks’<\/strong>, which is taken from the upcoming live album; Cosa Nostra: Live At The Mudd Club 1983 Gothenburg<\/strong>. The album will be available as limited edition vinyl and on all streaming platforms, with ‘Chinese Rocks’<\/strong> being a great intro into what fans can expect from the rare recording.

Now, the second track from the album, ‘<\/strong>Personality Crisis’<\/strong>, will be released on the 25th of May. As with ‘<\/strong>Chinese Rocks’, <\/em><\/strong>this is raw, full of New York attitude, totally live and 100% Johnny Thunders<\/strong>!

Cosa Nostra: Live At The Mudd Club 1983 Gothenburg, <\/strong>is a previously unreleased live show; extremely rare, direct from the Johnny Thunders<\/strong> estate and totally exclusive to Golden Robot Records \/ Die Laughing Records.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Henri Paul Tortosa is the last of Cosa Nostra<\/strong>, with other band members Billy Rath<\/strong> on bass, Jerry Nolan<\/strong> on drums and of course, Johnny Thunders<\/strong> on guitar. The Cosa Nostra<\/strong> band made an impact where JT<\/strong> left off with The Heartbreakers<\/strong> (NYC). Live single ‘Personality Crisis’<\/strong> is at its best with a snide, raw power showing that Cosa Nostra<\/strong> were the real deal. Johnny<\/strong> would come onto the stage taunt – “Yo yo yo! You kids going to dance or something, or just look stupid?\u201d following it up with the iconic, \u201c1 2 3 4!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

About Johnny Thunders\u00a0<\/strong>
Born in Queens, NY in 1952,\u00a0Johnny Thunders<\/strong>\u00a0fell in love with rock \u2019n\u2019 roll and turned his back on a potentially successful baseball career to start the legendary\u00a0New York Dolls<\/strong>\u00a0– the band that spawned hundreds of other hopeful rock \u2019n\u2019 roll bands.

When the\u00a0New York Dolls<\/strong>\u00a0folded,\u00a0JT<\/strong>\u00a0and drummer Jerry Nolan went back to New York\u2019s budding punk rock scene to start\u00a0The Heartbreakers<\/strong>; an iconic band if there ever was one.

Their raw, wild and \u2018dirty\u2019 sound became engraved in the minds of all those young punks and it\u2019s fair to say they were more than a major influence on the London punk scene.

Over the years,\u00a0The Heartbreakers<\/strong>\u00a0toured on and off and they always kept the magic from the early days. Everybody remembers\u00a0\u2018Chinese Rocks\u2019<\/strong>,\u00a0\u2018Born to Lose\u2019<\/strong>\u00a0and other gems embedded in our hearts and minds forever.

Solo,\u00a0Johnny Thunders<\/strong>\u00a0showed a vulnerable, deeply sensitive and poetic side to his rocker persona, with masterpieces like\u00a0\u2018Can\u2019t Put Your Arms Around A Memory\u2019<\/strong>, and\u00a0\u2018So Alone\u2019<\/strong>.

Whatever his personal circumstances and demons he had to fight, he never lost his love for rock \u2019n\u2019 roll or\u00a0his unique personal sense of style or signature sound\u00a0that influenced so many.

JT<\/strong>\u00a0just can\u2019t leave anyone indifferent which continues to this day, even after his untimely passing at age 38 in New Orleans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
