It\u2019s Friday the 23rd of April and GILBY CLARKE<\/strong> has finally released his first new solo album in nearly two decades via Golden Robot Records<\/strong>! Gilby\u2019s new album The Gospel Truth<\/strong><\/em> is full of fist-pumping rock \u2018n\u2019 roll songs with fat choruses, bluesy licks and his trademark solos! It\u2019s classic rock, a new version of what Gilby likes to do and that\u2019s\u2026 LOUD GUITARS!  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The album features legendary Motley Crue<\/strong>bassist Nikki Sixx<\/strong>, as well as drumming from John Mellencamp<\/strong> and Chickenfoot<\/strong>sticksman Kenny Aronoff<\/strong> and Stephen Perkins<\/strong> from Jane\u2019s Addiction, Porno <\/em><\/strong>For<\/em><\/strong> Pyro & Infectious Grooves<\/em><\/strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Album has already spawned 3 singles in \u2018Rock n\u2019 Roll Is Getting Louder\u2019<\/strong> (a pure rock n\u2019 roll track doused in the influences that run through Gilby\u2019s veins), \u2018Tightwad\u2019<\/strong> (featuring Motley Crue<\/strong>\u2019s<\/strong> Nikki Sixx)<\/strong> and the title track which is a song about the concept of truth today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ABOUT GILBY CLARKE<\/strong>
Gilby Clarke<\/strong> has played in both Guns N\u2019 Roses<\/strong> and The MC5.<\/strong> Who else can claim membership in two of the most life-altering and influential rock \u2019n\u2019 roll outfits to ever exist on the planet?

But none of that overshadows the fact this guitarist, singer and songwriter was a 17-year-old punk from Cleveland whose Hollywood dues were paid in full. Before joining the Guns N\u2019 Roses<\/strong> circus, Gilby was Kim Fowley<\/strong>\u2019s go-to session guitarist and ghost writer. After playing with Hollywood bands Candy <\/strong>and Kill For Thrills,<\/strong> a late-night call from Slash changed everything. Gilby joined Guns in \u201991.

He appeared on the band\u2019s Spaghetti Incident, Live Era \u201988-\u201991<\/strong> and T<\/em><\/strong>he Greatest Hits<\/strong> albums. Gilby spent years on the Use Your Illusion<\/strong> tour in the 90s.

After Guns imploded, armed only with his Les Paul, Gilby went back and launched his solo career, receiving critical winks for his albums Pawnshop Guitars, The Hangover, Rubber, 99 Live<\/strong> and Swag.<\/em><\/strong> Recording and\/or touring over the lean years with Nancy Sinatra, Heart, The MC5<\/strong> & his old bandmate Slash<\/strong>\u2019sSnakepit,<\/strong> Gilby even snuck in videos with GNR<\/strong>, Michael Jackson<\/strong> and Fall Out Boy<\/strong> when MTV was de rigeur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Clarke currently splits his services with Kings of Chaos<\/strong> led by Matt Sorum<\/strong> and an all-star alumni that has featured Steven Tyler, Joe Elliot<\/strong> and Gene Simmons <\/strong>and his solo band.

Clarke, who\u2019s an old school mash-up of Keef, Johnny Thunders,<\/strong> and B.B. King<\/strong>, continues to write fist-jacking rock \u2019n\u2019 roll songs with fat choruses, and appear on stages around the globe. He produces worthy bands too. He\u2019s also one of the sweetest gents you\u2019ll ever meet. He\u2019s a guitar hero, certainly, but also a gentleman whose heart happens to rush at rock \u2019n\u2019 roll speed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
