World-renowned guitar virtuoso, Joe Satriani<\/strong>, has rescheduled his Shapeshifting UK Tour <\/strong>to May 2022 <\/strong>due to the coronavirus pandemic. Tickets for his April and May 2021 UK \u201cShapeshifting<\/strong>\u201d tour dates remain valid for the rescheduled May 2022 dates.

The rescheduled 2022 UK dates include Bexhill, De La War Pavilion<\/strong> (May 1), The London Palladium<\/strong> (May 2), Manchester, Bridgewater Hal<\/strong>l (May 3), Glasgow, O2 Academy <\/strong>(May 4), Birmingham, Symphony Hall<\/strong> (May 6), Gateshead, Sage Hall 1<\/strong> (May 7).

Satriani\u2019s latest studio album, \u201cShapeshifting\u201d<\/strong>, originally released April 2020 via Sony Music\/Legacy Recordings, features the radio tracks \u201cNineteen Eighty\u201d <\/strong>and \u201cBig Distortion\u201d<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The concert will feature tracks from \u201cShapeshifting\u201d<\/strong>, plus many of his classic fan favourites including \u201cSurfing With The Alien\u201d<\/strong>, \u201cAlways With Me, Always With You\u201d<\/strong>, and \u201cFlying In A Blue Dream\u201d<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 2022 touring band will feature celebrated drummer Kenny Aronoff <\/strong>(John Fogerty) bassist Bryan Beller<\/strong> (Aristocrats) and keyboardist Rai Thistlethwayte<\/strong> (Thirsty Merc) and Joe Satriani <\/strong>on guitar.

For two decades, the guitar virtuoso has travelled the world, playing to sold-out crowds as both a headliner and as founder of the all-star \u201cG3\u201d <\/strong>guitar extravaganza. Satriani\u2019s studio and live recordings have sold more than 10 million copies worldwide to date and of his many solo albums, two have gone platinum and four others went gold, with 15 Grammy nominations between them. His side project, Chickenfoot<\/strong>, featuring former Van Halen front man Sammy Hagar, former bassist Michael Anthony, and Red Hot Chili Peppers\u2019 drummer Chad Smith saw their debut album certified gold and their second studio album debuted at #9. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since its debut in 1996, Satriani\u2019s G3 tour has featured the world\u2019s greatest guitarists (everyone from Steve Vai and Eric Johnson to Steve Lukather and Robert Fripp and John Petrucci and Uli Jon Roth) and has become a consistent concert hall sell-out attraction in the U.S., South America, Europe, Australia and Japan. \u201cI think part of its charm and its mojo is in the chemistry of having three top guitarists share what they do on stage,\u201d says Satriani. \u201cIt\u2019s fun, it\u2019s unpredictable, it\u2019s wild \u2013 it\u2019s everything you could want in a show.\u201d

Since the 2017 release of his \u201cWhat Happens Next\u201d<\/strong> album, Satriani, toured his G3 Guitar Extravaganza<\/strong> worldwide to critical acclaim, and then embarked on the Experience Hendrix US tour. Last year Satriani announced the re-release of his classic 1987 album, \u201cSurfing With The Alien”<\/strong>, that featured new artwork and a bonus disc, \u201cStripped \u2013 the Backing Tracks”<\/strong>, featuring the songs with all guitar solos removed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
