The song is taken from the band\u2019s current album \u201c<strong>Isolation Boulevard<\/strong>\u201d and can be pre-saved&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/backl.ink\/144488190\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>HERE<\/strong><\/a><strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Isolation Boulevard<\/strong>\u00a0features all the Sweet\u2019s classic hit singles and was recorded with the new line-up during lockdowns between September and October 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It\u2019s a reworking of Sweet\u2019s 1975 album multi-million selling \u201c<strong>Desolation Boulevard<\/strong>\u201d. The latest single \u201c<strong>Set Me Free\u201d<\/strong>&nbsp;is taken from the album, and although it is one of the most covered songs in the band\u2019s repertoire, this marks the first time Sweet has released it as an official single.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Over the years, the song has been covered by many rock artists including\u00a0<strong>Vince Neil<\/strong>\u00a0of\u00a0<strong>Motley Crue<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Steve Stevens<\/strong>\u00a0(<strong>Billy Idol<\/strong>) and\u00a0<strong>Saxon<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cRecording an album separately in different locations throws up a myriad of technical problems,\u201d says Andy Scott. \u201cIt\u2019s impossible for everyone to play at the same time, so all parts are performed the \u201cold\u201d way and then data transferred back to base camp where the magical digital stuff takes over.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Continues Andy, \u201cSweet would usually record all together in the studio with a performance rather than individually but the pandemic dictated the ways and means. They\u2019ve sold&nbsp;<strong>55 million albums<\/strong>&nbsp;and had&nbsp;<strong>34 number #1 hit singles<\/strong>. Hailed by many as a national treasure with a loyal fanbase, their dazzling arsenal of rock music stands the test of time.
