Michael Schenker<\/strong>\u00a0will release his new\u00a0MSG\u00a0<\/strong>album,\u00a0“Immortal”<\/strong>,\u00a0on January 29th, 2021 via\u00a0Nuclear Blast<\/strong>. The album title is a perfect statement\u00a0describing\u00a0Michael Schenker’s\u00a0<\/strong>legacy and to celebrate his 50th anniversary as a musician.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


Today, the band reveal their third album trailer, in which\u00a0Michael Voss<\/strong>\u00a0explains, how their second single, the power ballad\u00a0‘After The Rain’<\/strong>\u00a0was written and where the idea for the song came from.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The song ‘After The Rain’ was coming out of the blue. A power ballad I have never done before. Michael Voss wrote some lyrics and vocal melodies, after I had put down my musically composition on backing track for this song. The next morning Michael Voss played me what he had sang to it and I said: This is so beautiful, only you can sing this song and it turned out amazing\u201c,<\/em>\u00a0comments\u00a0Michael Schenker<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


\u201eThis is an outstanding mellow tuned power ballad with some unique Michael Schenker clean picking guitarstyle. When I first listened to Michaels rough sketches, I was singing a kinda \u201alala\u2018 melody that automatically drove me into the line \u201asay have you been lonely,…\u2018 – from there I felt it must deal about a sad loss and a departure of a big love… but there will be sun and light… after the rain\u201c,<\/em>\u00a0adds\u00a0Michael Voss<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The album was predominantly recorded at the\u00a0Kidroom Studio\u00a0<\/strong>in Germany, with\u00a0Michael<\/strong>‘s\u00a0long time partner\u00a0Michael Voss<\/strong>\u00a0who co-produced the album and also sings on two tracks. The cover artwork of \u00a0\u201eImmortal\u201c\u00a0<\/strong>was\u00a0<\/strong>created by\u00a0Zsofia Dankova<\/strong>\u00a0(POWERWOLF<\/strong>\u00a0etc.).

\u201eImmortal\u201c\u00a0<\/strong>will continue the tradition of the previous two\u00a0MICHAEL SCHENKER FEST<\/strong>\u00a0records\u00a0\u201eResurrection\u201c<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0\u201eRevelation\u201c<\/strong>\u00a0featuring\u00a0a big list of friends and guests.\u00a0The album’s main vocalist will be uprising\u00a0Chilean\u00a0born talent\u00a0Ronnie Romero<\/strong>\u00a0(RAINBOW<\/strong>\u00a0etc.), along with\u00a0Michael Voss (MAD MAX\u00a0<\/strong>etc.)<\/strong>,\u00a0Ralf Scheepers<\/strong>\u00a0(PRIMAL FEAR<\/strong>) and\u00a0Joe Lynn Turner<\/strong>\u00a0(ex-DEEP PURPLE<\/strong>,\u00a0RAINBOW<\/strong>\u00a0etc.) singing on two tracks each. Besides Michael Schenker himself, the album was recorded with\u00a0Steve Mann\u00a0<\/strong>(keyboards),\u00a0Barry Sparks<\/strong>\u00a0(bass,\u00a0DOKKEN<\/strong>\u00a0etc.), as well as the three drummers\u00a0Bodo Schopf<\/strong>,\u00a0SimonPhilipps<\/strong>\u00a0(ex-TOTO<\/strong>) and\u00a0Brian Tichy (ex-WHITESNAKE).\u00a0<\/strong>The newest addition to the record is keyboard player\u00a0Derek Sherinian<\/strong>\u00a0(ex-DREAM THEATER<\/strong>, ex-KISS<\/strong>\u00a0etc.), who plays on the album’s opening track, featuring German power machine\u00a0Ralf Scheepers<\/strong>\u00a0on vocals.

\u201eImmortal\u201c<\/strong>\u00a0will feature ten tracks, including the magnum opus\u00a0“In Search Of The Peace Of Mind”.<\/strong>\u201eI wrote this song when I was 15 years old, it was my first ever written piece of music\u00a0which I recorded with SCORPIONS on our first studio album \u201eLonesome Crow\u201c in 1970, getting\u00a0released in 1972. We re-recorded this song for my 50th anniversary as a celebration and\u00a0it turned out to be an epic; with an extra extension at the end of the song, which turned out absolutely fantastic with Simon Phillips on drums, doing his usual amazing stuff.\u201c\u00a0<\/em>The result is a true highlight and features even more surprises:\u00a0\u201eGary Barden sings the first verse,\u00a0 continued by Ronnie Romero – and in the end we have Ronnie, Doogie White and Robin McAuley screaming their heads off, as a tribute to my 50th anniversary. Absolute amazing. Thanks to the guys for doing this!\u201c<\/em>

The limited first edition of this upcoming\u00a0MSG\u00a0<\/strong>album will feature another unique\u00a0extra:\u00a0\u201eIt will include\u00a0the MICHAEL SCHENKER FEST – Bang Your Head \u2013 Blu-ray,\u00a0which was\u00a0recorded during\u00a0our headline show in Balingen\/Germany two years ago: Unfixed, raw, pure and great! There’s a\u00a0couple of small\u00a0mistakes, but because the show and recording went so well, I decided to keep it the way it went on the night. It’s live, magic and pure.\u201c<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
