Rick Pierce<\/strong> is a founding member, lead guitar and songwriter of the legendary Seattle hard rock band TKO<\/strong>, whose debut release Let It Roll<\/em><\/strong> continues to cement the band\u2019s cult-like status. Pierce then went on to play with Q5<\/strong> (with Floyd Rose<\/strong>, acclaimed inventor of the Floyd Rose tremolo system) who\u2019s album Steal The Light<\/em><\/strong> goes down as an all-time classic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pierce now returns with RPG (Rick Pierce Group)<\/strong> who recently signed with Crusader Records<\/strong> and have delivered new single Tick Tock<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tick Tock<\/strong>\u00a0<\/em>was written in the spirit of\u00a0Q5\u2019s\u00a0Missing in Action<\/em>,\u00a0Steel the Light\u2019s<\/strong>\u00a0hard-hitting album opener.\u00a0The idea is to get everyone\u2019s attention from the start.\u00a0It matches a heavy guitar riff to Floyd\u2019s almost mystical lyrics.\u00a0It is a pure slab of the best U.S. power \/ traditional metal.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rick Pierce <\/strong>is a founding member, lead guitar and songwriter of the legendary Seattle hard rock band TKO<\/strong>, whose debut release Let It Roll<\/em><\/strong> continues to cement the band\u2019s cult-like status. TKO<\/strong> toured the world with the likes of AC\/DC<\/strong>, Van Halen<\/strong> and other huge acts. Rick\u2019s unique arsenal of guitar pyrotechnics provided the backbone of the unmistakable TKO<\/strong> sound.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following his successful stint with\u00a0TKO<\/strong>, Rick remained true to his metal roots and teamed up as lead guitarist for power metal band\u00a0Q5<\/strong>\u00a0with\u00a0Floyd Rose<\/strong>, acclaimed inventor of the Floyd Rose tremolo system. Buoyed by tremendous word-of-mouth and subsequent critical acclaim for their self-released first album,\u00a0Q5<\/strong>\u00a0was signed by the influential British metal label,\u00a0Music for Nations (Metallica, Manowar<\/strong>).\u00a0Q5<\/strong>\u2019s album\u00a0Steel the Light<\/strong>,\u00a0<\/em>produced by Floyd, is still considered a classic in metal and hard rock circles worldwide and continues to sell in all formats to this day. The opening thrasher\u00a0Missing in Action<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0is one of Rick\u2019s best known compositions.\u00a0Polygram<\/strong>\u00a0Records<\/strong>\u00a0released the album in North America and distributed the next album,\u00a0When the Mirror Cracks<\/strong> on Cliff Bernstein and Peter Mensch\u2019s\u00a0Squawk<\/strong>\u00a0label.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Suicide Squad<\/strong>, a project with his former singer in TKO<\/strong>, Brad Sinsel<\/strong> marked Rick\u2019s return to Music For Nations<\/strong>, and after Q5<\/strong>\u2019s split MFN<\/strong> signed Rick\u2019s new band, Nightshade<\/strong> for the indie chart topping album Dead of Night<\/strong>. Two more Nightshade<\/strong> albums followed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Q5<\/strong>\u00a0staged a reunion (Floyd couldn\u2019t take part) at\u00a0Sweden Rock Festival<\/strong>\u00a0in 2014.\u00a0 This ultimately resulted in a third\u00a0Q5<\/strong>\u00a0album\u00a0on\u00a0Frontiers Records<\/strong>.\u00a0 Rose and Pierce then began a new songwriting\/recording collaboration with Floyd again as producer and Rick on guitar joined by\u00a0Chris James<\/strong>\u00a0on vocals,\u00a0Izzy Rehaume<\/strong>\u00a0on bass and\u00a0Frankie Rongo\u00a0<\/strong>on drums. Chris is Floyd’s discovery from Southern California while Frankie and Izzy are Rick\u2019s past touring and recording mates, Frankie with\u00a0Nightshade<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Q5<\/strong>, and Izzy with the (ex-Metal Church) Ronny Munroe Project.\u00a0\u00a0RPG<\/strong>\u00a0are recording their new project between\u00a0Floyd’s studio in Southern California and the studio in Washington State where Rick did the tracking for\u00a0Q5<\/strong>\u2019s\u00a0New World Order.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
