Up and coming post-punk band, Crying Vessel, is getting the jump on the Halloween season with the release of their third music video from the well-received album\u00a0Pleasures For The Wicked<\/em>, released on Cleopatra Records in August of this year. Cannily enough entitled \u201cThe Third Covenant,\u201d the video is a masterwork of mood and movement showcasing the talents of dancer Son Bao Nguyen moving in hypnotic slow-mo through a series of poses that cross back and forth between ballet and martial arts. It\u2019s emotional, heavy and dramatic – which itself is a fine description of the music contained herein:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pleasures For The Wicked<\/em>\u00a0is a concept album built around being stuck between life and death, in a dark home of secrets and regrets. The songs are sometimes seamless and tie into one another to tell a story. In the cover image, each element has its purpose, embracing symbolism like paintings of the renaissance era. The female’s ghost plays multiple roles, as a strong reflection of the past and also as the ghost of Lilith. She is there to take them away. Each song title is a part of the story, which can be heard in its entirety as a bonus hidden track on the CD only. It can also be read on the inside of the CD sleeve while listening. The album took 2 years to create and is the first time that Slade and Basil worked together directly playing their instrument roles in the songwriting.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
