They\u2019ve been called one of the most influential psychobilly groups to emerge out of the musical menudo that is Los Angeles, and undoubtedly one of the most adventurous, mixing equal parts ’50s rockabilly, punk rock and Catholic mysticism. They are Rezurex and they have returned with a frighteningly excellent studio album,\u00a0Skeletons<\/em>, their first new album in nearly a decade! Frontman and founder Daniel deLeon, along with guitarist Matti Jade, bassist Michael Maniacal & drummer Ben 9000, turns up the heat on these 11 new tracks that include special guest appearances by Gary Myrick, Nekromatix drummer Rene Delamuerte, and Dusty Grave of BAT! & Stellar Corpses. For a taste of what\u2019s in store, check out the album\u2019s first single \u201cMi Calavera De Amor\u201d as well as the stellar video, which was directed by Vicente Cordero of Industrialism Films and starring Izzy Vill as \u201cLa Catrina.\u201d The video was premiered on the website for the much-loved horror themed magazine Rue Morgue:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

DeLeon shares these thoughts on the new album, \u201cWhen it comes to my songwriting I’m inspired by classic horror and sci-fi movies, as well as urban legends and the occult. This new album,\u00a0Skeletons<\/em>\u00a0has all that and more which I’m very proud of. I enjoy a good challenge creating something different and new. As an artist I like to stand out from others by experimenting musically, theatrically and poetically too. Close your eyes, take my skeleton hand and walk with me through my cemetery into the unknown.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
