Together, Alyssa Gambino, Adam Jessamine, Mikal Smith, and Gene Murphy are bringing back&nbsp;rock&nbsp;music while simultaneously putting their own unique stamp on it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">PHNTMS\u2019 highly anticipated six-track self titled EP soaks up the band\u2019s amalgam of influences, ranging from movie soundtracks and bands such as U2, Biffy Clyro, Kings of Leon and Deaf Havana, to powerhouse soul singers such as Amy Winehouse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Inspired by everyday situations, relationships, and growing up, the band aims to create a feeling with which listeners can easily identify. Gambino reveals, \u201cI think as songwriters, we try to capture these moments and make them as detailed as possible. We\u2019ll always be fascinated by the fact we can freeze these moments&#8230;\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-youtube wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"PHNTMS - Back Burner (Official Video)\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/sgl9JuormSU?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Leading single \u201cBack Burner\u201d narrates two people dealing with bad timing and not being ready to take the next step into a relationship, despite there being a strong attraction. Vocalist Alyssa Gambino shares, \u201cI\u2019ve always kept a safe distance when having feelings for someone new and the &#8216;flame&#8217; represents just that. For me, being placed on the back burner is a lingering reminder that I will be here waiting.\u201d Featuring gritty guitars, a driving rhythm section and velvety vocals, \u201cBack Burner\u201d builds into a compelling and&nbsp;energetic&nbsp;release. \u201cTowers\u201d showcases dramatic crashing drums and determined melodies, highlighting Gambino\u2019s impressive vocal range.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With half of the band identifying as queer, PHNTMS also hope to reach out to and support the&nbsp;LGBTQA+&nbsp;community. Drummer Gene Murphy confides, \u201cWe openly talk about lesbian relationships in our music and we want to bring hope to anyone who is in the closet and doesn\u2019t feel safe coming out.
