No rest for the wicked! The Duke of Spook and his devilish ghouls, WEDNESDAY 13<\/strong>,<\/em> has returned with a new lyric video for their latest single, ‘The Hearse’<\/strong>, from their recently released album, \u201c<\/em>Necrophaze<\/strong>“, that\u2019s out now from Nuclear Blast<\/strong>.

\u201cThe heaviest track on the record, and maybe the heaviest track of my musical career,\u201d<\/em> states Wednesday 13<\/strong>. \u201c\u2018The Hearse\u2019 is a beast with the double kick drum mania provided by drummer Kyle Castronovo. I\u2019m a big fan of the movie \u2018Christine.\u2019 I wanted to write a song about a haunted car, so this was inspired by that mixed with the old rhyme from the \u2018Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark\u2019 book.\u201d<\/em>

The horror-fueled track is the latest standout creeper from “Necrophaze<\/strong>“, which features other singles like ‘Zodiac’<\/strong>, ‘Bring Your Own Blood’<\/strong> and ‘Decompose’<\/strong>.

With all touring postponed, WEDNESDAY 13<\/strong> is currently plotting their return to the road later this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Heavily influenced by real life night terror occurrences of Wednesday<\/strong> himself, historical serial killers, and a slew of 80\u2019s horror films, the ideas behind \u201cNecrophaze\u201d<\/strong> are bizarrely familiar, frightening, and a hell of a lot of fun. Being a collector of both media and toys, WEDNESDAY 13<\/strong> was inspired by a craving for variety to create dual album artwork for this release (seen below). The covers showcase either end of the horror spectrum with a \u201cCreepshow<\/strong>\u201d comic book vibe for the LP artwork, and the eeriness of something akin to John Carpenter\u2019s \u201cThe Fog\u201d<\/strong> adorning the CD.

\u201cNecrophaze\u201d<\/strong> was recorded and mastered with Michael Spreitzer<\/strong>, producer, recording engineer, as well as the long time guitarist of DEVILDRIVER<\/strong>, and is the first WEDNESDAY 13<\/strong> record to feature guest spots, which include performances by Alice Cooper, Roy Mayorga<\/strong> of STONE SOUR<\/strong> (who provides an eerie, authentic, 80s inspired synth soundtrack-score to the album), Alexi Laiho<\/strong> of CHILDREN OF BODOM<\/strong>, and Cristina Scabbia<\/strong> of LACUNA COIL<\/strong>. Also making an appearance on the album is Jeff Clayton<\/strong>: member of legendary punk bands ANTiSEEN<\/strong> & GG Allin\u2019s MURDER JUNKIES<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
