Metal horror band\u00a0FROM HELL<\/strong>\u00a0returns in 2020 with a new album called\u00a0RATS & RAVENS<\/em><\/strong>. Staying true to the vision that each release is a concept album,\u00a0Aleister Sinn<\/strong>\u00a0(the live persona of George Anderson, creator\/writer of\u00a0FROM HELL<\/strong>), releases an album both dark and sinister.\u00a0
Mid 13th Century\u2026somewhere in eastern Europe<\/em>\u201cA father disturbs an evil in the east. A witch comes to steal his son and the children of the village to make them her own. She sacrifices them and reanimates the dead with the blessings from the god of vermin. With rats, she brings them back to life and calls them Lilium.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n


RATS & RAVENS<\/em>\u00a0will be available worldwide on May 22 in stores and online!<\/p>\n\n\n\n


RATS & RAVENS<\/em>\u00a0features\u00a0Aleister Sinn<\/strong>\u00a0on vocals and guitar,\u00a0Wes Anderson<\/strong>\u00a0on drums,\u00a0Stephen Paul Goodwin<\/strong>\u00a0on bass and\u00a0Steve Smyth<\/strong>\u00a0on lead guitar. As the band rehearsed the songs with\u00a0Sinn<\/strong>, the richness of what Wes, Steve, and Stephen brought to the material from their varied backgrounds of musical experience added a depth to each song that was later realized in the final recordings. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

FROM HELL<\/strong>\u00a0recorded the album with\u00a0Greg Wilkinson<\/strong>\u00a0(High on Fire, Necrot, Autopsy) at Earhammer Studio in Oakland, CA.\u00a0Sinn<\/strong>\u00a0says, \u201cWhen we returned from tour in Russia 2017, we recorded two new songs with Greg and we really liked working with Greg and what we heard. He records bands in a more natural way than many metal engineers and producers and doesn\u2019t rely on sound replacement, but captures great tones to start with and the final mixes of our album came out very natural sounding, heavy and produced, but not over-produced. I personally am pleased.\u201d\u00a0
Mastering was handled by Maor Appelbaum (Faith No More, Annhilator, Cynic) at MaorAppelbaum Mastering in Los Angeles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


George Anderson (aka Aleister Sinn) has played guitar and vocals for the SF Bay area bands\u00a0Down Factor<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Grandma<\/strong>, a tribute to\u00a0King Diamond<\/strong>. Wes Anderson has played drums for\u00a0Les Claypool<\/strong>,\u00a0Idiot Flesh<\/strong>,\u00a0Blind Illusion<\/strong>,\u00a0Young Lions (Noah of Neurosis)<\/strong>,\u00a0SOSA<\/strong>, and Kehoe Nation. Steve Smyth has played guitar for\u00a0Testament<\/strong>,\u00a0Nevermore<\/strong>,\u00a0Dragonlord,Forbidden<\/strong>,\u00a0Vicious Rumors<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0One Machine<\/strong>. Stephen Paul Goodwin on bass has played for Vicious Rumors,\u00a0Diablo Dukes<\/strong>,\u00a0Journey Unauthorized<\/strong>\u00a0and has played or recorded with\u00a0Brad Gillis<\/strong>,\u00a0Mick Mestec<\/strong>,\u00a0Eric Peterson<\/strong>,\u00a0Will Carroll<\/strong>, Phil Bennett,\u00a0Sticks Hooper<\/strong>,\u00a0Eric Barnett<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Salar Nader<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n


RATS & RAVENS<\/em>\u00a0is the follow up to the first\u00a0FROM HELL<\/strong>\u00a0album\u00a0Ascent From Hell<\/em><\/strong>, which is as heavy as it is epic. The album tells a horror story about a corpse that wakes up in Hell only to find he must go back to earth, recover his soul that still lives inside another body and drag it back to Hell.\u00a0Ascent From Hell<\/em>\u00a0featured metal icons\u00a0Paul Bostaph<\/strong>,\u00a0Steve Smyth<\/strong>, and\u00a0Damien Sisson<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
