CONCLUDES NOVEMBER 22
November 8, 2011 \u2013 THE DEAR HUNTER\u2019s loyal fans have spoken. It\u2019s because of them that the band is proud to announce today\u2019s release of \u201cThe Complete Collection\u201d package of their critically acclaimed nine-EP collection, THE COLOR SPECTRUM (Triple Crown Records), which is now available on CD for the first time. The three-CD box set includes a 52-page booklet of lyrics, notes from band mastermind CASEY CRESCENZO and new artwork, as well as a 90-minute DVD consisting of live and never-before-seen footage of the making of the epic compilation. <\/p>\n

Immediately following the initial June 14 release, THE COLOR SPECTRUM debuted in two separate spots on Billboard\u2019s \u201cHeatseekers\u201d chart: first at an impressive #9 for the entire digital version, and at #32 for the 11-song CD version (featuring select music from each EP). <\/p>\n

THE COLOR SPECTRUM–originally only available digitally and as a limited edition vinyl package (sold in a wooden box) that quickly sold out–consists of songs inspired by the colors of the spectrum, specifically RED, ORANGE, YELLOW, GREEN, BLUE, INDIGO and VIOLET, with WHITE and BLACK being included as bookends. It was written and recorded as CASEY traveled across the U.S., documenting every step of the process as he worked with several producers and musicians including Manchester Orchestra, Brendan Brown from The Receiving End of Sirens, Mike Watts (who has worked with As Tall As Lions and he mixed the band\u2019s ACT III: LIFE AND DEATH), and Steve Haigler (Brand New, As Tall As Lions, Quicksand).<\/p>\n

“This project has gone farther than I could have hoped for,\u201d exclaims CASEY. \u201cI\u2019m proud to be releasing \u2018The Complete Collection\u2019 on CD, along with a DVD detailing my trip across the country, and ‘making of’ footage for a number of the EPs. We wanted to make sure the CD box set could live up to scope of the vinyl box, and with a new large accompanying booklet, as well as all new art design by Cameron Thorne, I feel this has been given more care and love than a standard rerelease.”<\/p>\n

THE COLOR SPECTRUM has been racking up rave reviews since its release. To wit:<\/p>\n

\u201c..the disc\u2019s biggest threat is how effortlessly Crescenzo & Co. are able to pull off each style. \u2018Filth And Squalor\u2019 and \u2018Deny It All\u2019 (from BLACK and RED, respectively) are stomping, bombastic rock songs with dark tinges that fall neatly in the band\u2019s wheelhouse. The breezy \u2018She\u2019s Always Singing\u2019 and folksy \u2018Things That Hide Away\u2019 and \u2018The Canopy,\u2019 meanwhile, are free from the normal mountain of production that typically characterizes The Dear Hunter, and really highlight Crescenzo\u2019s sharp songwriting.\u201d –Alternative Press<\/p>\n
