STATIC-X to Feature Original Band Line Up: Tony Campos, Ken Jay and Koichi Fukuda<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As teased late last year,\u00a0STATIC-X<\/strong>\u00a0will head out on their highly-anticipated\u00a0Wisconsin Death Trip\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>20th<\/sup>\u00a0Anniversary\u00a0tour this summer, which will also serve as a memorial tribute to late vocalist Wayne Static. The tour will feature co-headliners and metal giants\u00a0DevilDriver<\/strong>, and will also feature support from heavy mainstays\u00a0Dope<\/strong>. The tour will begin in Tempe, AZ on June 18 and will visit over a month’s-worth of cities, coming to an end in Las Vegas, NV on July 27.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Our intention is to pay ultimate respect to Wayne and to celebrate the music that has been in all of our hearts for more than 20 years,”<\/em>\u00a0says bassist Tony Campos.\u00a0“It’s all about channeling the vibe from 1999 to the best of our ability and playing those classic\u00a0STATIC-X<\/strong>\u00a0songs live and loud.”<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Rehearsals have been awesome,”<\/em>\u00a0adds guitarist Koichi Fukuda.\u00a0“The music and the vocals are sounding really great! I feel like Wayne would be proud.”<\/em>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In celebration of this announcement,\u00a0STATIC-X<\/strong>\u00a0have revealed an exclusive promotional video for the tour, including a brand new clip of the band performing a newly-recorded version of their hit song “Push It”, featuring an unidentified vocalist. “We understand that people are naturally going to want to know more about who is singing,”<\/em>says drummer Ken Jay.\u00a0“We have discussed this at great length and we came to the conclusion that at this time, it would be inappropriate for us to put the focus on anyone other than Wayne, Tony, Koichi and myself. It feels like the best way for us to celebrate Wayne’s legacy, along with the 20th<\/sup>\u00a0anniversary of\u00a0Wisconsin Death Trip<\/strong>, with all of our fans.”<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

DevilDriver\u00a0<\/strong>frontman Dez Fafara says,\u00a0“For those who don’t know, I am the one who first discovered\u00a0STATIC-X<\/strong>\u00a0back in the day in a small club in front of about 40 people! From that moment forward, I was and have always been a fan of what they do. It’s unique and will always hold a special place musically for me.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Co-headlining this first memorial tour is not only a way to pay homage to Wayne, but something I’m very excited to do.\u00a0STATIC-X<\/strong>\u00a0will be closing the show each night out of respect for Wayne. I’ll be there nightly, side stage, watching the unit do their thing with a big smile. I hope that Wayne will be there in spirit, watching as his brothers pay respect by bringing this music back to the fans that made the band so massive!
